As a author you always like to talk about quanity when it comes to selling books; however, I learned an important life lesson at my last book signing in Tulsa. The lesson learned is that quality is much better than quanity. My son Luke had his first football game on Saturday and I could not be there because I was at a book signing. I knew that we wouldn’t sell tons of books that day because there were OU and OSU games and I believe that TU was also playing at home. But as a author you also are very humbled and grateful for any opportunity to sell your gift to the world. I arrived at my signing and I already had made up my mind that it probably would not go as the two earlier ones. We sold out at the previous locations and I had this weird feeling about this one. I was sitting at my table talking to the workers at the counter when I thought I would make my way around the store. I approached a woman by the magazines and started a conversation and then headed back to my table. As they were leaving they came up to me and asked me to tell them about our book. As I started she began to tell me that she was looking for a gift for her friend that had just lost a child and so to make a long story short, our story, our book was signed in memory of this child that was a priceless gift to many and was now an angel in heaven. Wow, I could not have sold any other books that day, that was the reason I was there on that day at that exact time. I pray that book brings great comfort to them and that it was a message that was brought from above that he was a great gift and that all their time and love was well spent!!! God bless that family!!! A lesson well learned–quality is so much bigger than quanity!!!

What a powerful word!! BELIEVE….I have heard that word since I was a child, “Believe me, believe in yourself, believe in the word, believe”..what does it mean to you? I was telling Luke a couple of days ago when he was upset about something at school, to believe in himself and don’t let anyone get in your way of what you believe in. Then I started really thinking about what I said to him. That is asking a lot of my seven year old. We as adults sometimes don’t believe in what we are saying! Then it came to me, If we believe in the Ultimate GIFT GIVER and the price he paid for us on the cross then it isn’t such a hard word to say or to take in. So, he came to me before bed the other night and said “I believe” and when I asked him in what? He said “in Jesus”, wow, puts the word believe in a whole new perspective, a cool one. A gift from a child, he simplified my definition of believe. Have a great day and just believe, its that simple.

I am writing this, my first blog, with great appreciation and a very humbled heart to those who have “stormed the gates” with their prayers and their love on behalf of The Ultimate Dream. We did it!!! The Ultimate Dream A child’s gift giving journey has been born, it released officially on July 15th, 2009. Throughout this journey I have had many prayer partners that have continually called and cheered us on while publishing this book. Thank You will never be enough for what you have done for us. I remember in 2007 starting with a vision that God had placed in my heart and a blank sheet of paper before me and now, two years later we have this incredible gift to share with the world. I get goosebumps everytime I see one of the books and a few times I have shed a few tears because I am so amazed at how this has all happened. Remarkable, just remarkable. I do not believe in circumstance or chance, I believe in divine appointment and we have had many over the last year and a half. I have had blessing after blessing and am very grateful for the opportunity to take this message to others. The accomplishment of this gift, the book, has been the journey of my lifetime. I find myself almost “speechless” tonight as I sat in my study and get ready for our first television interview tomorrow. I am thankful for so many wonderful people in my life that have been behind the scenes along the way. So, I will not continue to talk, sometimes, we just need to be still and quiet. Simply stated, I look forward to changing the world, one gift, one child at a time and I am honored to work for one of the best CEO’s in this world, Jesus Christ.
